Gunn has 16 years of experience in education and leadership, graduated from Viterbo University with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, and previous to working in Mediapolis, she served as a building and district leader on various leadership teams.

“Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that prioritizes student growth and achievement,” Magliari wrote.

“I am excited to embark on this journey and learn from each of you, to work hand-in-hand to overcome challenges, and to celebrate the successes that undoubtedly lie ahead,” Gunn wrote in a statement describing her excitement for her new role.

“Let’s create an environment where curiosity is nurtured, creativity is encouraged, and every student feels valued.”

The district says Gunn was selected after “an extensive and collaborative selection process involving a dedicated committee.”

The selection committee was comprised of representatives from various stakeholders, including staff members, parents, community members, and school board members.

“The administration worked diligently to identify a candidate who embodies the values and vision of our school,” Magliari wrote “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all involved in this rigorous selection process.

Gunn replaces former Mediapolis Elementary Principal Dave VanNess, who announced his retirement in December after nearly 15 years with the Mediapolis School District.
