Sivert Iversen Jr. Obituary
Sivert Iversen, Jr., 91, of West Burlington, died Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Born December 30, 1932, in Santa Barbara, CA, he was the son of Sivert and Lucille Ann Champagne Iversen. On September 20, 1958, he married Elizabeth C. Wiemann in Burlington, Iowa. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2000.
He worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 20 years and did maintenance work at SCC for 15 years.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War.
Sivert was a hard working person and worked multiple jobs throughout his life. He was a big people person and enjoyed talking with others. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Sivert enjoyed reading when he had the opportunity.
Survivors include his son, Mark Iversen of Mount Pleasant, IA; daughters, Carrie (Steve) Berry of Burlington, IA, and Christine Iversen of West Burlington, IA; granddaughter, Jenney of Burlington, IA; brother, Raymond (Karen) Iversen of Macomb, IL; and sister, Dina (John) Poole of Burlington, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marthe Piper.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Iversen will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Sacred Heart Cemetery with Fr. Dominic Nguyen officiating.
A memorial has been established at Divine Mercy Parish and EveryStep Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.
